Qualcomm and Microsoft

At the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. announced its collaboration with Microsoft to increase the adoption of augmented reality (AR) that will entail “designing custom AR chips and integrating software platforms” that will enable power efficient, lightweight AR glasses to deliver powerful immersive experiences. Shiftall’s MaganeX

Shiftall Inc., a subsidiary of Panasonic Corporation, at CES 2022 unveiled ‘MaganeX’, their new ultra-lightweight, high-dynamic-range (HDR) virtual reality (VR) glasses with built-in speakers. The product supports 6 degrees-of-freedom (DoF) head position detection and various SteamVR applications. The glasses have adjustments so that they don’t require corrective lenses.

Mojo Lens

Mojo Vision announced it’s raised an additional $45 million in its Series B-1 investment round to support continued development of Mojo Lens, its conceptual smart contact lens. At CES 2022 Mojo Vision announced it’s partnering with several fitness brands such as Adidas Running, Trailforks, Wearable X, Slopes and 18Birdies to explore how to integrate Mojo Lens into sports and training.

TCL’s AR smart glasses

At the CES 2022 event, Huizhou-based tech company TCL announced the release of its NXTWear Air augmented reality (AR) smart glasses. These would act as an external monitor to enable users to stream media in the privacy of an AR environment. TCL has not yet confirmed pricing or release dates for the glasses.
